Maria Athanasiou, Ph.D., Vice President, Targeted Therapeutics – Dr. Athanasiou joined Clinical Data in October 2005 following the completion of the Company’s acquisition of Genaissance Pharmaceuticals where she had served as Project and Alliance Manager since 2001. Previous to Clinical Data, Dr. Athanasiou contributed to the Human Genome Project as Assistant Director of Genome Operations at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas.  Dr. Athanasiou received a B.S. in genetics from the University of Wisconsin and a Ph.D. in pathobiology from the University of Minnesota under the direction of Harry Orr.
