Job Description
The position consists of analysis of data and the tracking of samples through the clinical testing process, as well as the analysis of data for research projects.  The employee will be expected to follow both standard operating procedures and develop novel protocols, maintain meticulous records, think critically, work within a team, and communicate effectively both vertically and horizontally.

Scientific Analyst I (Temp Position)

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Analyze and interpret nucleotide variation in clinical and non-clinical sequencing and genotyping tests.
  • Assist Research Scientists with research including literature searches and data reviews.
  • Generate or update SOPs as needed.
  • Work closely with managers from the QA/QC, and Study Management groups to troubleshoot, coordinate, and develop new processes to maintain and improve data quality and tracking. 

Background Requirements

  • Education, Experience, and Knowledge
    • Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university; Experience with public genomic tools and databases preferred.
    • 1-3 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
    • Experience with clinical testing preferred.
  • Skills and Abilities
    • Well organized.
    • Must be able to multi-task.
    • Good analytical and reasoning skills.
    • Good problem solving and trouble shooting skills.
    • Must have excellent communication skills, both written and spoken.
    • Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word.
